Executive Summary

Mark is a seasoned professional Transformation Program Delivery Executive. Mark is a strategic and goal oriented Executive with more than 20 years of proven experience in solving problems and delivering on transformation projects for Tier 1 and 2 companies and Government organisations across the Asia Pacific region. He has hands-on proven delivery experience utilising his strategy, people, process, technology and leadership experience to create and implement scalable, innovative and transformational solutions across rapid growth environments. Having worked in both smaller and larger organisations, Mark has the experience to hit the ground running and identify and deliver on the areas most needing attention. He can mentor and support staff to realise their fuller potential while delivering the required business solutions. Unlike many of his senior industry peers, Mark is both able and comfortable rolling up his sleeves and working within the detail – in doing so to be able to assist Company executives operationlise the strategies set at Board level.

 Mark has a deep understanding of setting up and optimising corporate and HR processes, and supporting technologies. He is adept at strategic change management, crisis management, trouble-shooting, problem solving and negotiating, while also demonstrating strong competencies in managing cost and risks, with a solid reputation for delivering Programs on time and consistently within budget with the correct level of change management and staff engagement. He is often called in to set up mission critical programs as well as assist turning around troubled programs.

Mark’s speciality is taking corporations through major transitions/change through holding both line management Interim Executive and Program Delivery positions.


Selected Achievements

  • Significant International experience having worked in Australia, the UK, India, the US, China, Indonesia and Malaysia on some of Asia Pacific’s largest transformation implementations.  

  • Delivered multiple large Finance, HR, Payroll & CRM implementation and outsourced programs for clients across multiple industries and countries.

  • Led large numbers of public sector transformations including the design and change management of the Corporate and Shared Services Blueprint for all of NSW Government, planning for the roll-out of NSW Businesslink, outsourcing contracts for RAAF, and the major restructuring of Department of Defence activities. Independent advisor on a multi-billion dollar Infrastructure strategy for NSW Government.

  • Led full-phase launch of shared service centres in US and Australia, including forecasting, SAP implementation, and people, process, and technology planning, for global concrete manufacturer; enabled $120M cost savings on $80M investment, receiving recognition from board of directors for company’s most successful program.  

  • Resurfaced struggling practice for Big 4 consulting firm, assuming leadership role in Australasian business; achieved 43% revenue increase and strengthened team, transforming division from non-performer into leader with highest growth rate globally. 

  • Through a full Oracle Business Suite implementation and 5 year outsource arrangement was vital in positioning a global airline for worldwide sustainability and profitability including a $200M shared service process improvement and systems deployment program.

  • Key resource in the startup of IBM’s ERP & Outsourcing division, personally selling and delivering client implementations and outsource transitioning of up to $200M.

  • Advised India’s wealthiest man in two-year $2B investment for startup of a new retail enterprise under the Reliance conglomerate, setting strategy and aiding in execution for store launches, POS/Finance/HR IT implementation, training, and the setting up of a corporate performance metrics program through a CRM implementation.

  • Engaged by FACS as the Transaction Manager to facilitate the procurement of phase 2 of a multi-billion dollar 30 year Social & Affordable Housing Program. Significant focus on multiple levels of stakeholder management and facilitating workshops and change to deliver results. This follows successfully completing Phase 1 two years ago. (just completed)

  • Egaged by the Minister and reporting directly to the Chairman of a large government Agency was requested to set up the governance and monitor performance of all Ministerial Priority programs as well as the necessary change management interventions to keep all programs on task including digitization, CRM and new technology initiatives

  • Engaged by the COO to design and manage implementation of a new CRM system bringing stakeholders on board, enabling major cultural change and operational model redesign to enabling a new sales culture to be created and supported. (New CRM system installed together with a new sales team and approach; overall business model changes globally.)

  • Engaged as an Interim Executive Consultant at NSW RMS to own the executive and regional manager relationships and assist get the business ready for the TfNSW SAP roll-out. This required establishing close working relationships, travelling the state and owning the change and business readiness process.

  • Focusing on senior stakeholder engagement and change management, tasked by the Executive Committee of WorleyParsons to globally restructure the 33,000 person company across all areas of the operation to drive a better customer focus, savings and efficiencies in people, process and technology

  • Tasked by the group CFO of a major insurance company to assist in the negotiation and delivery of a Tier 1 Systems Integrator’s contract terms conditions and approach for a major IT implementation and outsource program.  Assisted setting up appropriate governance structure, implementation team and approach as well as ensuring key delivery milestones were met. (Tens of millions of dollars saved in integration costs). 

  • Engaged by NSW Government as an independent advisor on a number of multi-billion dollar infrastructure programs

  • Engaged by the Board of an IT Services company to lead and turnaround their Australian business including the getting back on track of a number of troubled projects. (Two large projects turned around and an extra $10m of services sold)

  • Engaged by the CEO of a fast growing global electronics manufacturer to improve the performance across the business deciding what functions were to stay and what were to be outsourced.  Identified and designed solutions for many improvement areas in all parts of the business.  Worked on an upgrade to the incumbent ERP system for all modules the key being the Finance and Field Services modules. (millions of dollars of operating costs removed and company restructured to handle post mining boom)
