What a fabulous night!
We heard from RenΓ©e Brack, who shared her story of why she made her award-winning documentary Ticketyboo, which explores the impact that her fatherβs dementia had on her. Information About the Film: Ticketyboo
Ticketyboo is about art, dementia and staying connected to people we love living with a diagnosis. It explores my personal story with dadβs Alzheimerβs - what I got wrong, what I learned to get right. It also features interviews with Ita Buttrose, Kate Swaffer, Professor Peter Gonski plus leading journalists Anne Connolly and Rick Morton.
Media commentary: βreally affectingβ - βa lot of things I didnβt expectβ - "editing is masterfulβ - βvery braveβ. Itβs also been described by media as βheartwarming and heart-wrenching in equal measureβ. Kerrie OβBrien of The Age and SMH said it was βa very timely filmβ.
The premiere on July 30 at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival was a sell-out and received a standing ovation.
Weβve begun our international festival run and attained 10+ official selection laurels as well award wins including Best Documentary (Stockholm Film Festival) and Best Australian documentary (Amsterdam Film Festival) with more to follow.
